Herdan with an Acorn

Herdan with acorn. Based on traditional Ukrainian jewelry herdan, this item represents a variety of weaving and decorative styles. The central ornaments originate from the 18th-century embroidery from the Naddniprianshchyna region of Ukraine. The acorn motif is inspired by the Scythian jewelry discovered in the mounds of the Kherson steppes. In the Ukrainian tradition, the oak tree symbolized might and wisdom, and was used in games and rituals. Handcrafted.
